Position Summary

PHI is seeking a Data Clerk for the Children’s Oncology Group (COG). This position is located in Monrovia, CA.

The Administrative Assistant position is responsible for performing clerical and administrative tasks to support the day to day operations of all COG research teams. The main functions of this position include the following: management of the COG Adverse Event Reporting System (COG-AERS) email inbox, coordination of results reporting to clinicaltrials.gov and processing of site submitted electronic documents, such as patient medical reports, coordination of electronic patient study transfers in COG database systems and providing administrative and data management support as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Review and manage the COG-AERS email inbox on a regular basis, reading emails as they arrive and triaging them to the appropriate study Research Coordinator.
  2. Perform patient transfers in COG Electronic data capture systems consulting as needed with the Associate Directors in the respective leagues.
  3. Work with Study Statisticians to coordinate timely generation of clinicaltrials.gov study results for applicable COG and CTEP sponsored studies. Maintain clinicaltrials.gov records for COG studies that have met the actual primary completion date.
  4. Perform data entry of study results into PRS system and follow up on PRS queries for COG sponsored studies.
  5. Submit study results to NCI and work with statisticians to coordinate responses to review comments for CTEP sponsored studies.
  6. Coordinate the processing and review of incoming electronic documents, such as patient medical reports, ensuring patient protected health information has been properly redacted.
  7. Receive, sort, and file clinical reports and related information accurately, according to guidelines and procedures.
  8. Respond to inquiries from study physicians, clinical research associates and staff regarding medical reports.
  9. Coordinate standing and ad hoc conference calls and meeting minutes.
  10. Assist with data management projects as needed (e.g., AE reconciliation, data queries).
  11. Provide ongoing clerical and administrative support.
  12. Perform other duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High School degree required.
  • 3 years’ experience working in administrative functions
  • Strong knowledge of computer software (MS Word, MS Excel)
  • Strong organizational abilities and ability to work independently
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
  • Must have collaborative and problem-solving approaches to projects
  • Knowledge of medical terminology highly preferred
  • Work experience in a medical field preferred, but not required
Compensation

Compensation:

This is a non-exempt position and the hourly wage is commensurate with experience. PHI offers a generous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, short/long term disability insurance, life insurance, 403b (group retirement annuity) and partial subsidy of public transportation cost.
