Position Summary

PHI is seeking a full-time Project Manager for Rise Up. This position is located in Oakland, CA.

The Collective Impact Partners (CIP) initiative is an innovative coalition working to advance economic empowerment for girls and women. The coalition includes Rise Up, Public Health Institute, Global Fund for Women, World Pulse, and Global Women’s Leadership Initiative, five leading organizations working together to advance economic empowerment for girls and women globally.

CIP seeks an experienced Project Manager to launch the Women’s and Girl’s Economic Empowerment Advocacy Initiative in India. The Project Manager will be part of the Rise Up team which is based at PHI. This exciting new initiative will work with civil society leaders, organizations, and networks in India to strengthen their capacity to launch and implement advocacy initiatives focused on the economic empowerment of women and girls. The Initiative is centered around the needs and priorities of Indian women and girls and will forge partnerships with influencers in business and government, and take advantage of the transformational power of technology in scaling advocacy.

The successful candidate for the CIP Project Manager position will bring demonstrable experience in program management, strong background working with teams and partnerships, and strategic thinking to launch this new multi-organizational economic empowerment initiative in India. Program components includes participant recruitment and selection, curriculum development, implementation of programmatic activities including trainings, provision of technical assistance, grant-making and evaluation and monitoring. The Project Manager will be responsible for on-going communications with staff, funders, consultants, participants, partners, and vendors.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of all facets of CIP’s work in India, including partnership development, workshop planning, developing program curricula, monitoring and evaluation, contacting and coordinating consultants and trainers, organizing logistics, and researching and preparing materials.
  • Manage relationships with partner organizations, develop and adapt curriculum, facilitate training workshops, coordinate recruitment and selection of participants, and manage all aspects of the program.
  • Coordinate grant-making portfolio, including proposal review, monitoring and evaluation, tracking grantee reporting and outcomes, and providing technical assistance support to grantees.
  • Manage program financials, including tracking overall budget, detail expenditures, and completion of deliverables.
Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required or additional 4 years of related experience.
  • At least 5 years of related experience
  • Experience living and/or working in India
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on low-resource settings
  • Strong cross-cultural communications skills and demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience developing curriculum and facilitating trainings and workshops
  • Experience coordinating detailed logistics for programs and/or events
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility to adapt as needed, self-manage, and prioritize and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience utilizing technology platforms
  • Fluency in Marathi or Hindi is a plus

Compensation:

This is an exempt position and the salary is commensurate with experience.
