Position Summary

PHI is seeking a full-time Community Outreach Specialist I for the Cultiva La Salud Program. This position is located in Fresno, CA.

This position acts as liaison for the Cultiva La Salud program. It is responsible for recruiting residents; maintaining communication with residents and facilitating intervention activities in the community. The position may also assist in the tracking and evaluation of activities. It is also responsible for identifying technical assistance needed by community members.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plans, participates, delivers, and evaluates community workshops, meetings, and special events including coordination of logistical arrangements with vendors and contractors.
  • Supports research, development, and disseminates resources and tools.
  • Facilitates intervention activities with community members.
  • Recruits individuals and organizations for participation in program activities.
  • Develops and maintains systems for tracking community activities.
  • Supports the evaluation of project progress and deliverables; prepares summaries, reports, and correspondence on outreach efforts.
  • Assist with informing flyers, program content and translations as needed
Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years experience
  • High School Diploma required. Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Must reside in the target location –Southeast Fresno or have meaningful experiences working in the neighborhoods of SE Fresno.
  • Experience in community organizing
  • Bilingual English and Spanish
  • Good knowledge of principles, methods, and techniques to implement and evaluate health education programs and outreach activities at the national, state, and community levels
  • Good administrative and organizational skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform multi-tasking efforts
  • Excellent working relationships with individuals, groups, and local government officials
  • Creative, possesses initiative, and resourceful
  • Excellent rapport with clients, trainees, peers, and other employee levels.
  • Can work independently

Compensation:

This is an exempt position and the salary is commensurate with experience.
